3D-MC Dozer

For road building, site work, contour grading, or any other complex surface grading requirements, Topcon’s 3D-GPS+ will put more money to your bottom line – where it counts.

Features & Benefits:

  • Rugged color touch screen control box displays blade position and distance to design
  • Real-time cut/fill mapping–move material only once
  • Backwards compatible with existing Topcon MC systems
  • Enter offsets easily for cutting sub-grade
  • Increase grading productivity significantly
  • Reduce staking on jobsite almost entirely
  • Control materials to your advantage
  • Complete projects on time or ahead of schedule

With the reality of nearly eliminating grade stakes, providing unmatched material control capability, and the simplest user interface in the industry, you are sure to integrate Topcon 3D technology successfully into your business.

There are several machine configurations avaiable to fit your 3D Dozer requirements.  Topcon offers several 3D Dozer solutions including Single Antenna, Twin Antenna and Dual Antenna, all configurable with the proper hardware and all conveniently operated through the same 3DMC software interface.  Please see all the available product descriptions below to determine the best fit for your application.

We make sure the investment you make today will work for you in the future. Topcon’s building block design also allows you to add new sensors or technologies to your system such as mmGPS and Network Corrections without having to buy a whole new system, Plug and Play!

Single Antenna:  To get the 3D position for the entire cutting edge of the blade, a single GNSS antenna must be complemented with a blade slope sensor. This set-up requires the blade to be kept fixed to the direction of travel. If using a rotating blade, a rotation sensor must be added if correct cut/fill is to be generated.

Twin Antenna:  Twin GNSS antennas on a dozer system operate exactly as a single antenna only the second antenna and GNSS receiver board are used to measure the rotation angle of the dozer blade.

Dual Antenna: Dual GNSS antennas dispenses the blade slope and rotation sensors because the position, slope and orientation of the blade is instantaneously known using antennas at each end of the blade.

In most dozer applications, Single, Twin and Dual antenna systems perform equally as well. However, the Twin and Dual antenna systems have an advantage in applications where the machine does not point in the same direction in which it is traveling.

The Dual or Twin antenna systems are not more accurate than a Single antenna system. How you are planning to use the system should be the determining factor as to which type of system will work best for you.
